It is a common consensus that the Philippines has one of the lowest average internet connection speeds in the world. According to Akamai’s Q3-2016 State of the Internet report, the Philippines ranks 103 globally with an internet connection speed averaging only 4.2 mbps. Majority of internet connections in the Philippines are below this average. Only 29% of the connections are above 4 mbps; a low 5.4% of connections are above 10 mbps; a dismal 2.4% of the connections are above 15 mbps. Moreover, not only does the Philippines have a low average internet connection speed, it also ranks one of the highest in terms of internet service costs compared to other countries.
The Philippines’ internet infrastructure is preventing many enterprises from adopting cloud services such as Microsoft Office 365 or Azure. We also hear from customers about their challenges in availing reliable and cost-effective wide-area-network infrastructure services to interconnect their nationwide branch network.
To help customers establish a more reliable WAN infrastructure at a more reasonable cost, CT Link is partnering with VeloCloud to offer SD-WAN services in the Philippines.
VeloCloud, a Cloud-Delivered SD-WAN pioneer, simplifies branch WAN networking by automating deployment and improving performance over private, broadband Internet and LTE links for today’s increasingly distributed enterprises, as well as service providers.
About VeloCloud
VeloCloud is a cloud-delivered software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) solution designed to simplify and optimize enterprise network connectivity. The company was founded in 2012 and acquired by VMware in 2017.
Traditionally, enterprise networks have been built on expensive, proprietary hardware devices that are complex to deploy and manage. VeloCloud’s SD-WAN solution offers a new approach, using cloud-based software to virtualize and simplify the network infrastructure. This makes it easier for companies to connect their branch offices, data centers, and cloud resources together in a secure and reliable way.
VeloCloud’s solution uses a combination of software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) technologies to create a highly scalable and flexible network architecture. The SD-WAN solution intelligently routes traffic across multiple network links, including broadband, LTE, and MPLS, to optimize performance and minimize costs. It also includes advanced security features such as encryption and firewalls to protect against cyber threats.
One of the key benefits of VeloCloud’s SD-WAN solution is its simplicity. The solution can be deployed and managed from a single cloud-based console, making it easy to configure and monitor the network. This reduces the need for specialized networking expertise and makes it possible for organizations to quickly adapt to changing business requirements.
Another advantage of VeloCloud’s solution is its ability to integrate with existing networking infrastructure. The solution supports a wide range of networking protocols and can be used with legacy devices, enabling organizations to leverage their existing investments while modernizing their network architecture.
